State Key Laboratory of Geohazard Prevention and Geoenvironment Protection (SKLGP)

The State Key Laboratory of Geohazard Prevention and Geoenvironment Protection (SKLGP) is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, Southwest China. With dozens of years of history, in 1989 it was approved as a state professional laboratory by the State Development Planning Commission and the State Education Commission, established for the state key discipline “Geological Engineering” in Chengdu University of Technology (originally Chengdu College of Geology). It was recognized as the Key Laboratory of Sichuan Province by the local government in 2001. And one year later, it was developed as the State Key Laboratory Base, which was under the joint construction of Ministry of Science and Technology and Sichuan Province. In 2003, it became Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Land and Resources. Upgraded to a State Key Laboratory by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2007, SKLGP now is an exclusive laboratory in the field of geohazard prevention in China. The present director of SKLGP academic committee is Academician Wang Sijing from Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Professor Huang Runqiu is in charge of the laboratory.

Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering

The Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering (CSRME) is a non-profit academic organization of chinese scholars and engineers specializing in rock mechanics and rock engineering which holds membership in the Chinese Association for Science and Technology.
The main tasks of CSRME are:
     To organize and support domestic and international academic exchanges;
     To hold various training courses and educational classes;
     To popularize fundamental knowledge of rock mechanics and rock engineering;
     To provide consulting services in rock mechanics and rock engineering.

Chengdu Univerisity of Technology (CDUT)

Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) was founded in 1956. The university was called Chengdu College of Geology before the year 1993. In May 2001, two other colleges amalgamated with the CDUT. CDUT was one of ministerial key universities under the leadership of the Ministry of Land and Resources before 2000. It is now one of Sichuan Province key universities.CDUT is a diverse university with 15 teaching units including 14 colleges. The specialties of CDUT are mainly in science and engineering with additional programs offered in economics, liberal arts, management, law and philosophy. In recognition of our strength and consequence, 2 degree programs have been appraised as key specialties at the national level and other 11 at the provincial level. CDUT also has 2 key laboratories at the national level and other 6 key laboratories at the provincial level and another 35 research institutions. There are 53 degree programs for undergraduate students, 39 master programs and 16 doctoral programs. In addition, CDUT operates two post-doctoral research stations.More than 25,000 students are enrolled full-time for the year 2004. The faculty numbers of the university are 2021,including 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Science, 62 doctorial tutors, 126 professors and 261 associate professors. Seventy-two of them have been awarded the State Council Special Allowance. CDUT has 2 positions for Changjiang Special Scholarships. Since its foundation, CDUT has completed 2200 research projects, of which over 600 have been awarded prizes at the national, provincial and ministerial levels. Fifteen have received national patents. The university archive is one of the first-grade archives in China’s research institutions and universities, and one of the largest archives in Sichuan Province.

Collaborative Innovation Center of Geohazards Prevention (CICGP)

The Collaborative Innovation Center of Geohazards Prevention (CICGP) was established by Chengdu University of Technology (lead), China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), Chang An University, Tong Ji University, the Ministry of Water of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chengdu Mountain Disaster and Environmental Research Institute and the Institute of Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as the China Geological Survey Bureau and China Hydroelectric Engineering Consulting Group. After the establishment of the center, taking the unique regional geological environment condition as the background, taking the national key discipline of geology engineering as the core, taking the cooperation innovation mechanism and the system reform as the forerunner, taking the theory and the technological innovation as the guide, facing the national demand of the major geologic disaster prevention and the major project construction through the organic combination of interdisciplinary and infiltration of "administration and production", constructed a new mechanism and new mode of collaborative innovation in the field of geological disaster prevention and control. Created a knowledge and technological innovation system in this field, and gathered and cultivated a group of top-notch creative talents. Obtained a number of significant landmark results and solved a number of key engineering construction problems in the prevention of major geological hazards. CICGP made a substantial contribution to the construction for the national innovation system.

Engineering Geology Commission(ENGEO)

The Engineering Geology Commission(ENGEO) is a secondary society affiliated with the China Geology Society, which is mainly responsible for academic exchange, member management, academic activities and member management of International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG) in China. The aims of ENGEO are:
     1)to promote and encourage the advancement of Engineering Geology through technological activities and research
     2)to improve teaching and training in Engineering Geology
     3)to collect, evaluate and disseminate the results of engineering geological activities on a worldwide basis.

International Research Association on Large Landslides (iRALL)

The International Research Association on Large Landslides, hereinafter named “iRALL” is an international non-governmental, non-political, non-profit-making and unaffiliated institution for the promotion of knowledge about large landslides. The objectives of iRALL are to promote:
a) Cooperation and exchange of knowledge among scientists and engineers working on large landslides
b) The dissemination of scientific knowledge of large landslides
c) The mitigation of risks associated with large landslides and their consequences

Hong Kong Chemical, Biological & Environmental Engineering Society (HKCBEES)

Hong Kong Chemical, Biological & Environmental Engineering Society (HKCBEES) was founded in 2007 being an independent, scientific research and development organization. The Service can be traced back to the first work in 1999. HKCBEES plays an influential role and promotes developments in Chemical, Biological & Environmental Theory and Applications in a wide range of ways. The mission of HKCBEES is to foster and conduct collaborative interdisciplinary research in state-of-the-art methodologies and technologies within its areas of expertise.
